Fireworks at Hueston Woods State Park

July 4th is a day to celebrate our nation’s independence with family and friends, but why not celebrate it with the nation itself, in America’s backyard? The wonderful state and national parks across the U.S. have many activities for families and friends to do. From live music to food festivals and brilliant firework displays to parades by the water, parks have events for everyone to enjoy. A great example of a non-firework event is at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California, where rangers will take visitors on an exclusive hike up Montezuma Grade to look for the elusive Bighorn Sheep, a once-in-a-

lifetime experience! As long as you keep it safe, keep the fire hazards down, and pack sunscreen, you are in for a holiday unlike any other!

Here are 5 state parks across the country where you can enjoy 4th of July Celebrations. Many parks offer holiday specific celebrations… be sure to find a park near you offering fun 4th of July activities!
